A series inspired by a Brazilian folktale from the state of Espírito Santo. The story takes place when slavery was still legal in Brazil and tells of black people who went to a party in secret, wearing masks and full-body costumes so the slave owners couldn’t recognize them.
Nowadays, it is a popular festival. I imagine a world where every day is a holiday and creatures wearing masks go out to have fun; creatures that make their own costumes and speak their own language without fear of being lynched or arrested.
